The Inspiring Journey of Yura Yarta
Early Days
Yura Yarta, Indigenous majority-owned and operated company, was founded by Jadon Tree, who began his journey in the small town of Hawker, South Australia. Despite facing challenges, Jadon’s hard work and determination led him to complete year 12 SACE at the age of 16 and embark on a full-time career.
After various experiences, including working with ICE Engineering as an apprentice electrician, Jadon won multiple awards for his achievements and community contributions including NAIDOC Youth of the Year and School Based Apprentice of the Year for South Australia. Jadon was a shortlisted candidate for Young Australian of the Year.
Inspired by his passion to help Aboriginal people/youth secure skilled jobs, Jadon collaborated with Tasmea Limited’s Managing Director, Stephen Young and ICE Engineering’s CEO, Nick Bindi to establish Yura Yarta Services.

Yura Yarta is a subsidiary of Tasmea Limited.
Tasmea owns and operates a large number of inter-dependent leading Australian diversified specialist trade skill services businesses who focus on maintenance, shutdown, breakdown and brownfield upgrade services of critical fixed plant for blue chip essential asset owners. Yura Yarta is a dynamic construction, electrical maintenance, and labour services provider, uniquely distinct in being a proud Indigenous majority-owned and operated company.
With a focus on supplying a highly qualified and experienced Indigenous workforce to the mining and resource sectors, Yura Yarta is committed to providing a platform for local Indigenous people to enhance their skills through competency-based training and on-the-job experience.
